About the Instructor

I am part of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum team, specializing in helping teachers utilize the principles of backwards design to develop distance education courses. I have been integrating digital tools and resources into teaching at NCSSM since 2001, including creating over 1,000 videos for the school’s YouTube Channel. I've made several professional development resources for teachers in areas such as video production, audio production, storytelling, and flipping the classroom. In 2015, I received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence for outstanding service. I've lived and traveled all over the country, toured as a musician, and I've made several short award-winning experimental documentaries that have shown at film festivals all over the world. In my spare time, I enjoy playing music, meditation and spending time with my family.

I am NOT a meditation instructor & I have no background in therapy. I just wanted to make something about a topic I was interested in exploring. I've been meditating since Summer 2014.
