(*M) Myers Brigg and Academic Engagement Completion
- Due Jun 8, 2016 by 11:59pm
- Points 50
- Submitting a website url
WHAT is the assignment?
You will complete a Myers-Brigg personality assessment, and further expand on potential goals and interests you hope to accomplish at NCSSM. We are working towards a final assignment where you will script a speech that 'your future self' gives on all of your accomplishments
Later in this course, you will learn a term in psychology called 'grit' which serves as a label we can assign to people. You are used to labels like 'gifted', and Myers Brigg itself will 'label' you. Grades and GPA can become labels. Part of our goal is to separate your goals and interests from your 'labels' but also question whether 'labels' do serve a purpose as a form of identity or measuring your progression. Everyone asks your GPA or potential college major, but few times do people ask 'are you accomplishing your goals.

HOW am I Graded?
This assignment is graded complete/incomplete. The instructor will review for completion but not necessarily make any comments. If you do not thoroughly complete or skip sections, it will be marked 'incomplete'
WHY should I complete this assignment?
Earlier you did a simply assignment of listing five goals you hope to accomplish at NCSSM---this assignment takes it much further. NCSSM is not like a prize earned at a Chuck E Cheese. We hope your interest in applying and accepting is you had goals for yourself in mind. This and other assignments forces you to think about why you are here and what you hope to accomplish---and provides an easy way to discuss these goals with your peers.
WHAT is next?
You will use Myers Brigg score and information from the Academic Engagement rubric at orientation, with your group members. Many of our orientation activities follow around thinking about your future interests and self, and what skills and goals you hope to accomplish (and how NCSSM can help).
